Charli XCX Embraces a Dark Alter Ego of Her Own Identity in Satirical Film Teaser

The Grammy-winning artist is gearing up for a significant cinematic presence in 2026, starting with the satirical film titled The Moment.

Throughout the movie, she plays what she describes as a dark version of her own persona.

It’s the realest depiction of the entertainment world that I’ve ever seen, Charli stated.

She clarified in an interview: This isn’t a concert film, however the inspiration came from the demand to make one.

An Early Look into The Project

The first teaser, unveiled on this week, combines real clips from her live performances with fictionalized backstage scenes.

The film is overseen and co-authored by Aidan Zamiri, who revealed that the narrative revolves around a reality where the artist made entirely different choices throughout the marketing of her hugely successful record Brat.

The film is a single one of numerous future screen roles for the musician, who recently starred in three cinematic festival entries this year.

Future Ventures

Next year will also include Charli alongside Olivia Wilde in sensual story I Want Your Sex, Natalie Portman in creative industry mystery The Gallerist, and Barbie Ferreira in scary reboot Faces of Death.

Additionally, she signed on to appear in the actress’s first film as director A Tree in Blue.

I’m deeply appreciating my acting journey, the performer stated. I’m incredibly motivated at the moment in acting, and I only ever want to do things that inspire me.

Score Contributions

The month of February will also include the release of Emerald Fennell’s interpretation of Wuthering Heights, which will feature new music from the singer.

Additionally, she will compose the score for the story Mother Mary, starring Anne Hathaway and Michaela Coel, set to be released next year.

The mockumentary is set to premiere on the 30th of January.
