But the Patriots answered in the second quarter as the rookie scored two seven-yard touchdowns before the ball carrier hauled in a throw from Drake Maye at the rear of the endzone in the middle of the third period to make it 21-7

"It was a crucial moment for him rising to the challenge, and it's been fantastic for him to keep earning playing time," Maye said of the rookie. "He desires to be excellent."

Fields connected with John Metchie late in the third period to reduce the lead for the visitors but Andy Borregales kicked a two kicks in the final period as the Patriots sealed the win
